Daniel and Aisyah loved their neighbourhood but had outgrown the house. Moving would have cost more than building, so we designed a single-storey rear extension that adds 28 m² of living space while keeping a strip of garden.
We managed the whole process: plans by our draughtsman, structural calculations by our engineer, and approval from MBSJ. On site, we treated the ground against termites before the foundations went in, then built the extension to match the original house.
Full-width sliding doors and a long skylight with heat-reducing laminated glass fill the space with daylight without turning it into a greenhouse in the afternoon.
