The flat was bright and well located, but it felt like a rental: bare walls, cold tiles and nowhere to put anything.
We added built-in carpentry throughout, including a TV wall, floor-to-ceiling storage and a study nook for the children by the window. A new plaster ceiling hides the aircon piping and carries soft cove lighting, and SPC vinyl flooring went straight over the old tiles, which saved two weeks of hacking and a lot of noise for the neighbours.
